RITES Selection Process

Selection for the GM, JGM and DGM posts will primarily involve:

  1. Scrutiny of online applications
  2. Verification of qualifications and professional experience
  3. Shortlisting of eligible candidates
  4. Personal interview
  5. Document verification
  6. Medical fitness examination

The interview carries 100% weightage, generally divided as follows:

  • Technical and professional proficiency – 65%
  • Personality, communication and competency – 35%

Merely meeting the minimum qualification and experience does not guarantee an interview. RITES may shortlist candidates based on the relevance and quality of their professional experience.

Documents Required

Applicants should keep clear scanned copies of the following documents ready:

  • Recent passport-size photograph
  • Signature
  • Class 10 certificate as proof of date of birth
  • Degree certificates and marksheets
  • Postgraduate degree certificate, where applicable
  • CGPA-to-percentage conversion formula, if required
  • Experience certificates
  • Appointment, joining and relieving orders
  • Recent salary slips or proof of pay scale
  • PAN card
  • Valid identity and address proof
  • Category or PwBD certificate, where applicable
  • No Objection Certificate for candidates presently employed in Government organisations or PSUs
  • Detailed proof of Metro or rail-based project experience

Experience certificates should clearly mention the employee’s designation, period of service, nature of duties and projects handled. Generic certificates that do not establish the required specialised experience may not be sufficient during scrutiny.

Practical Advice for Applicants

This recruitment is intended for highly experienced professionals. Before paying the application fee, applicants should compare their profile with three separate requirements:

  • Total post-qualification experience
  • Relevant Metro or rail-based urban-transit experience
  • Required organisational level, pay scale or private-sector CTC

Mentioning only the total number of working years may not be sufficient. Candidates should ensure that their experience documents clearly prove the specialised work required for the selected post.

Applicants should also monitor their registered email address and the RITES Careers page. Interview dates, shortlists, corrigenda and other recruitment updates may be published there.
