Who Can Apply?
Eligibility is paper-specific. Para II includes codes 141, 146 and 148 among tests open to applicants outside government service too. Read the conditions for your selected papers and confirm their relevance to your service requirements.
Before paying, ask your Head of Office which papers your particular service proposal requires. Take a list of tests already passed and any supporting result references. This makes it easier to identify the remaining requirement and avoid selecting a paper merely because colleagues are taking it.
Application Fee
| Component | Notified amount |
|---|---|
| Examination fee | ₹200 per paper |
| Application processing fee | ₹1,000 per test, in addition to the examination fee |
Check Para VI for exceptions. Use the portal’s final calculation for your chosen tests and papers; retain the payment receipt.
How to Apply Online
The official portal provides registration, application, payment-status and application-printing facilities. Use its User Manual if a screen is unfamiliar.
- Open the official portal: Visit Telangana Departmental Tests online services.
- Complete or check registration: Use the Registration option and retain the registration details.
- Open Fill Application Form: Enter the required particulars and follow the displayed instructions.
- Select the papers: Check both the test description and each paper code before adding your choices.
- Review the preview: Compare the entries with your records, including the language selected for a language test.
- Pay through the portal: Check the displayed amount before confirming the transaction.
- Check the status: Use the application/payment-status facility to confirm the outcome.
- Save the completed application: Print or download it after successful payment and preserve the receipt.
Prepare Before Opening the Form
Keep your personal particulars, applicable employment details, contact information and earlier departmental-test records nearby. Prepare the photograph, signature or supporting documents requested by the live form, using its displayed specifications. Check that scans are readable before uploading them.
A useful final check is to read each selected code aloud while comparing it with the notification. For GOT, check papers 88 and 97 separately. For SLT, check both the standard and the language. A correct-looking test name can still conceal an incorrect paper selection.
Hall Tickets and Examination Centres
The notification provides for hall tickets seven days before examinations begin. Centres are within HMDA, including Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medchal–Malkajgiri, or as the Commission decides.
When your hall ticket becomes available, compare the name, photograph and paper codes with your saved application. Read the reporting time and identification requirements carefully. Plan travel using the actual venue address, especially when attending two sessions on the same day.
A Practical Preparation Plan for Teachers
Start with the official paper-wise syllabus. Create a separate checklist for each paper and mark topics as “to read”, “practised” or “needs revision”. This gives a clearer picture of progress than counting study hours alone.
- Practise locating a rule: For papers permitting prescribed books, solve a question first and then find the supporting provision. Record where you lost time.
- Separate the GOT papers: Maintain individual notes for 88 and 97 so that revision covers each syllabus.
- Write language answers: For SLT preparation, practise the tasks in the current syllabus rather than relying only on reading.
- Use manageable study sessions: Choose a small topic after school, attempt questions and review mistakes before moving on.
- Keep an error notebook: Note the misunderstood point, the correct explanation and the reference to revisit.
After the Results: Preserve Your Records
Keep the official result or pass document with the application and hall ticket. Where the qualification is relevant to a service matter, ask the designated office to verify the result and record the appropriate reference. Read our Government Employee Service Register checklist for related record-review guidance.
