NWR Apprentice Selection Process
Selection will be made through a unit-wise, trade-wise and community-wise merit list. The merit score is the simple average of:
- Percentage obtained in Class 10, calculated using marks in all subjects; and
- Percentage shown on the provisional or final ITI certificate.
Illustrative example: If a candidate has 80% in Class 10 and 70% in ITI, the merit score will be (80 + 70) ÷ 2 = 75%.
If two candidates have the same merit score, the older candidate will receive preference. If their dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed Class 10 earlier will be placed first.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for original document verification and medical fitness examination by the selected division or unit. The notification does not announce a written test or interview.
How to Choose the Correct Division or Unit
This decision deserves careful attention because a candidate can apply for only one unit.
- First identify the exact trade printed on your NCVT/SCVT certificate.
- Open the official notification and check which units have slots for that trade.
- Compare the available slots, location and your ability to arrange accommodation.
- Select only one suitable unit; a unit with no vacancy for your ITI trade should not be chosen.
- Review the choice before final submission because a later request to change the unit or trade will not be accepted.
Submitting multiple applications may result in all applications being rejected.
