Can Class 10 Pass Candidates Apply?

The headline in the shared image mentions both Class 10 and Intermediate. Candidates should not interpret this as confirmation that a Class 10 pass alone qualifies for NTPC undergraduate posts.

NTPC undergraduate recruitment is normally at the Class 12/Intermediate level. The earlier official CEN 07/2025 required 12th or an equivalent qualification, with minimum-mark conditions and specified exemptions. Use the forthcoming 2026 detailed CEN to check the final qualification, marks, exemptions and date by which you must possess the qualification.

Practical example: A candidate who has completed Class 10 but is still studying Intermediate should not treat the news headline as permission to apply. A candidate who has passed Intermediate should check the complete eligibility rules before paying the application fee. Meeting the educational requirement is only one part of eligibility.

Which Posts Are Being Reported?

Current recruitment reporting names Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Trains Clerk, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Clerk cum Typist. The detailed CEN must confirm the actual post list and RRB-wise, category-wise vacancies.

Read each post entry separately. A typing post may require a skill test, while another post may have different medical requirements. When choosing preferences, consider the work you want to do, your typing readiness and the prescribed medical standard. A larger vacancy count should not be your only reason for choosing a post.

Age Limit, Salary and Application Fee

The news image mentions an age range of 18–30 years. The short notice reviewed here directs candidates to the detailed advertisement for age and other eligibility rules. Do not use the image alone to decide whether you are eligible or entitled to a relaxation.

Pay Levels 2 and 3 are mentioned in the indicative notice. For context, the earlier official NTPC UG advertisement listed initial basic pay of ₹19,900 for Level 2 and ₹21,700 for Level 3. These are previous-cycle reference figures, not a confirmed 2026 take-home salary. Check the new post table for initial pay and applicable allowances.

The short notice does not provide the complete fee schedule. Check the detailed CEN for your category's fee, payment deadline and any refund conditions. The application closing date, fee-payment deadline and correction window may be separate dates; record each one from the final advertisement.

Selection Process and Preparation

The earlier NTPC undergraduate process used CBT 1, CBT 2, a typing skill test for applicable posts, document verification and a medical examination. The 2026 advertisement will determine the stages for this recruitment.

The previous official examination pattern covered General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. It used 100 questions for CBT 1 and 120 for CBT 2, generally with 90 minutes per test and one-third negative marking for wrong answers. Treat this as a preparation reference until the new syllabus and pattern are confirmed.

A useful starting routine is to solve a short mixed practice set, review every mistake, and revise the topic that caused it. Keep a notebook separating calculation errors, misunderstood questions and topics you have not studied. If you want a typing post, add regular typing practice rather than waiting until after the written tests.

Documents to Prepare Before Applications Open

Organising documents early gives you time to resolve discrepancies. Keep the following ready, subject to the upload requirements in the detailed CEN:

  • Class 10 certificate for checking your name and date of birth.
  • Intermediate/Class 12 marks memo and pass certificate.
  • Identity document and Aadhaar details, as applicable under the official instructions.
  • Your own active mobile number and email address.
  • Photograph, signature and any live-photo capture required by the portal.
  • Applicable reservation, disability or ex-serviceman documents.

The short notice advises candidates to check that Aadhaar details match their Class 10 records and to keep the photograph and biometric information updated. Follow the final identity-verification instructions; do not assume from a forwarded summary that an identity document is compulsory or optional.

If names differ across records, identify the mismatch before registration and consult the official instructions on acceptable proof. Check the certificate format and validity requirements for your category. A document issued for another purpose may not meet this recruitment's requirements.
